Hi! I’m Kate. My days are fueled by coffee and wine, and I would fill my home with fresh flowers everyday if I could. An owner of 1,000 partially used notebooks (yes, I must keep them all), I constantly have a tune running through my head and you’re likely to catch me singing under my breath, even though I haven’t noticed I’m singing at all. Yes, I enjoy making conversation with strangers at the grocery store. Okay, I’m quirky! I’m also a talented calligrapher and artist, and my passion is to help you mark the special occasions in your life in a unique and beautiful way.
In fact, I’m a lover of all things beautiful; that rare breed of girl who registered for fine China and good crystal at my own wedding (I use the good crystal every day!) In a world of mass-produced cookie cutter pieces, I believe the things that are made by hand are most valuable. Hand forged, personal creations are works of art that are unique and extra-special. Imperfections are what distinguish real talent and dedication, and what makes any piece of art so special. With a master’s degree in art history, I have deep knowledge to draw on to create exceptional designs from any object you care about, whether it’s a baby’s first handprint or a Christmas ornament passed down from generation to generation. I love to find ways to make your objects sing and tell your story.
I believe in adding a special touch, whether through calligraphy or engraving, to those objects and moments that mean the most to you. I also help make memories and delight crowds with live art demonstrations at both personal and business events (think brand activations). I enjoy lending my unique talents to weddings, special events, product launches, corporate events, and special moments that require an elevated level of elegance.
I have always loved art, and actually did my first live art event at age 13.
I received my first calligraphy set on my 12th birthday.
I love all things pretty and feminine...and also own all the power tools in our household.
I’m passionate about art and believe that true beauty lies in contradiction.
I have an MA in art history and have spent decades honing my skills in fine arts. I have completed many courses on calligraphy and engraving and have practiced for years, developing my own style and the skill to create something unique to match my client’s own tastes. I started by offering my skill for friends and family members’ weddings and learned that creating pieces that brought people joy and meaning was truly fulfilling for me.
